Update

Hello,

This week in Science students began filling out a monthly Moon Calendar. We are looking forward to Sunday's lunar eclipse that will display a Blood Moon. Check it out with your kids at halftime! Students created a Moon Phase Flip Book and a Sun, Earth, and Moon model in which the Earth revolves around the Sun, and the Moon revolves around the Earth. Students played Jeopardy to help prepare for Wednesday's Rocks and Minerals Test. Students also learned about gravity and its pull on Earth's surface resulting in the ocean tides. The Rocks and Minerals Project is due on Wednesday, January 23rd. The assignment can be found under 'scanned assignments' in my blog.
The Rocks and Minerals Test Retake will be this Thursday. The Moon Phases Quiz will be on Friday.

Here is a list of my favorite 'rock' songs for future enjoyment.

This week in Mr. Marrese's History Class students learned about the colonization of Jamestown in 1607. Students know that the colony is named after King James I who sent them as part of a royal charter to make money for Great Britain. It certainly did not come easy considering the acclimation to the climate, lack of food, various illnesses and diseases, and fickle relations with the Native Americans. Students also watched and answered questions about Pocahontas and her relations with the English settlers and the onset of the Thirteen Colonies.

Go Patriots!
