This week in Science students submitted their Moon Calendar. Students read and answered comprehension questions on Pluto, Dwarf Planets, and Moons in Orbit. Students solved Planet Riddles and multiple choice questions about the Inner and Outer Planets. Next, they completed a Scavenger Hunt and Vocabulary Crossword. Students took a Practice Quiz which included an essay on comparing a planet in the Solar System to Earth. Finally, students watched Brainpop Videos and answered comprehension questions on the Outer Solar System, Galaxies, Milky Way, Exoplanets, and Time Zones. Students should calculate their body weight this weekend in preparation for an activity next week involving calculating their body weight on the Moon and Planets. This week in Mr. Marrese's History Class students were initially introduced to the creation of the New England Colonies including their founders Thomas Bradford, John Winthrop and Roger Williams. Students wrote an piece on how the Native Americans could have felt during the 2nd round of settlers beyond the Pilgrims and Puritans. Students viewed PBS videos on topics including the Plague of the Native Americans prior to the English settlers arrival. Students are currently preparing for a Test next Thursday on the topics of Roanoke, Jamestown, Plymouth. Here is the link to the Quizlet Flash Cards.
