Friday Update

Hello,

We are 2 days in and have set the stage for a successful year. Students placed their Assignment Notebook and Folders in their Binder. They may label 4 tabs: Math, Science, ELA, and History. Students also glued their Math Website Usernames and Passwords on the inside cover of their Assignment Notebook. These sites can be visited during Math class twice a week and often at home.
The Composition Books are Red and Blue for Ms. Grant, and Green and Black for Mr. Marrese for all 4 Subject Areas.

Snacks are welcome in my class once they return from Ms. Grant's ELA Block. Students know they can have a working snack and bottle of water. Fruit should be cut up and easy to handle while writing. I am not going to allow messy snacks like gogurts or juice that make a mess when they spill.

There is a Parent Breakfast this Wednesday in the Cafeteria at 8:00 AM.

Students received Volume 1 of their consumable Math Text. This will remain in school. Homework Practice Sheets will be ripped out and brought home for practice. You will also receive access to the online student edition.

I will begin teaching Science on Tuesday with a lesson on the difference between Observations and Inferences. We will also discuss the question 'What is a Scientist?' and 'What is Scientific Thinking?"

Please remember to return yesterday's forms on Tuesday if you have not yet done so.
