Update

Hello,

In Math we have a birthday bash project checkpoint next Thursday in which students will need to show me their spreadsheet totals. This week students practiced adding and subtracting fractions through the use of fraction strip sets. Students also used number lines and rounding to estimate sums and differences using the benchmark values of 0, 1/2, and 1. We later practiced converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice-versa.

In Science students shared their constellation activities from their selected zodiac signs. We read about stories contrived from ancient times for determining constellations and direction. Students later created an orbit model of the sun, earth, and moon. Finally, students were introduced to the 2 types of planets: inner and outer. The terrestrial planets and gas giants.
