Update

Greetings on this spooky Friday the 13th!

This week in Math students practiced dividing whole numbers. The main lesson yesterday was focused on modeling division with base ten blocks in which the divisor is the width, total area is the dividend, and the missing length is the quotient.

This week in Science students participated in labs experimenting in potential and kinetic energy. Students dropped 4 types of balls to count bounces. Students charted and graphed the results and then stated the relationship between height and mass to see which ball returned to as close a height as the drop. Students also flung elastic bands from 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 centimeters and measured the distances using a scale of 1 square foot tile equals 30 centimeters plus remaining centimeters.
