Update

Greetings!

This week in Math students practiced dividing decimals by powers of ten and whole numbers using models and standard algorithms through 3 lessons. Students will be quizzed next Wednesday as we move on to dividing decimals by decimals. The Problem of the Week is due today. Students also interacted with the dice to multiply decimals by whole numbers. The Birthday Bash Project will be introduced on Tuesday.

This week in Science students were introduced to our Solar System Unit featuring the Moon Phases. Students were given a moon calendar that is to be filled out each day. We filled out the first few days together in class by visiting moongiant.com. Students should look outside at night to make their own observations. Some nights will be cloudy of course. Students also created a Sun, Earth, and Moon model and Moon Phase Flip Book for their own personal reference. We also read out constellations and will go deeper in this concept next week.
