Update

Hello,

Today, I collected the Birthday Bash Project. I look forward to correcting them over the next week.
Lately in Math students completed the unit on division of decimals. Students have just begun practicing 3rd and 4th grade fractions to re-establish a foundation prior to next week's 5th grade fraction unit. This includes benchmarking fractions on a number line, using number sense to determine if they are close to 0, 1/2, or 1 whole, and identifying parts of a whole such as 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16. Students also practiced mixed review to show recall of past taught concepts.

The Division of Decimals Quiz Re-take was offered today.

In Science students read about the various components of our Solar System. Students know that the Sun is a star and that many stars are much larger than the Sun. We learned about asteroids, comets, and meteors. This week students learned about the inner and outer planets. It is amazing to learn how much time passes for each planet to revolve around the sun with regard to its distance.

Students have almost completed their monthly moon calendar.

Finally, I had a great time at this year's Super Bowl. Obviously, a win would have made it supreme! Nevertheless, the pregame festivities were fantastic. The residents of the Twin Cities were so nice! My main takeaway is 'kindness'.

Cheers,

Chris
