Update

Hello,

This week in Math students learned how to create line plots made of fractional amounts and how to find the average. Students also created line graphs and learned how to set a scale and interval amount based on the range of values in the table. Students practiced identifying the rule for input/output tables and plotted the ordered pairs on a coordinate plane. We also discussed how businesses use data displays to make decision for future business like the types and quantity of pizza toppings and how to market basketball sneakers and 'push' business into low peak months of the year.

This week in Science students read Wanted: Missing Rock Posters and had to identify the missing rock out of a line-up of rocks. Students went outside and cracked geodes to keep. The crystals inside bring the concept to life. To prepare for the Rocks and Minerals Test I read each question to the class out loud. We also played a classroom game of Jeopardy to practice answering questions.

The Math MCAS is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Students should bring in enough reading material for after the test.

The permission slips and money are due next Friday.

May the Fourth Be With You!

Thanks,

Chris
