Update

Greetings!

This week in Science students read and learned about the definition of Sound. As a class we discussed the parts of a sound wave, how to measure sound waves, the quality of sound, and noise. We also discussed when sound travels and when it doesn't, the various wind instruments, the highs and lows of pitch, and how to synthesize sound. In addition, students learned about volume and its intensity, how to measure decibels, noise pollution, sign language, how the ear works, how ears keep us balanced, and also help with hearing loss. Finally, we discussed the various inventions since Thomas Edison's Phonograph followed by later inventions of the record player, audiocassette, compact disc, and improved bass sound. Students answered comprehension questions throughout the week on these topics.

This week in Mr. Marrese's Social Studies Class students were introduced to and worked on the 'Create A Country' Project. This includes a 1-2 written description following the directions and rubric in Google Classroom along with a drawn picture of their map and flag.

A general reminder that according to our handbook students should not be bringing in coffee to school.

Please send in your field trip permission slip forms and $6.

Please check your appointment time for next week's Parent Conferences.

Enjoy your weekend and root on our sports teams!

Regards,

Chris
