Weekly Update

Hello,

This week in Science students prepared for the Energy Test. Students participated in Jeopardy Games involving Potential and Kinetic Energy, the States of Matter, and the Scientific Method. Students also collaborated and planned in groups for the creation of their Roller Coasters. Following the activity students analyzed what worked and what did not work. Students are being introduced to a new site called JogNog where they can answer MCAS Questions from all strands of Science. As Bill Belichick would say 'We are onto Sound Energy!'

This week in Mr. Marrese's Social Studies class students prepared for a Test on the following: States and Capitals, Major Continents and Oceans, Directions on a Compass Rose, and Latitude and Longitude. Students had a ShowDown with white boards to further practice their states and capitals. Students were also introduced to the 5 Themes of Geography. Students also worked on a 'Who Am I?' writing assignment that deals with culture and traditions. Furthermore, I sent students an email notification of an upcoming project called 'Create Your Own Country'. The due date will be adjusted once it is launched.
