Update

Hello,

This week in Science students completed their study of Plant Life with a review of Photosynthesis and the careers of Arborists, Organic Farmers, Space Gardeners, and Botany. We then moved onto how humans and animals need food and how warm-blooded animals require more food energy to stay warm during the cooler months. Students later learned about Adaptations which are things animals need to survive. We compared Physical and Behavioral Adaptations and went into detail of specific animals such as beavers, koalas, and salamanders. Their characteristics and behaviors are tailored for their specific needs. I also sent a sign-up genius for our Bottle Ecotarium Project to hopefully begin on April 29th.

This week in Mr. Marrese's History Class completed their Test on the 13 Colonies within the Google Classroom. I will offer a Test Retake on Thursday, April 25th. We also introduced the French and Indian War citing specific territories within the New World claimed by France and Britain on a map. In hand-written notes we cited reasons for the War based on the battle over the disputed territory of the Ohio River Valley. In addition, we discussed the role of the Native Americans and some of the tribes who sided with each country along with the treatment by each country. Students also learned about the Acts/Tax leading up to the Revolutionary War.

This year sure is flying by. I know I don't want it to end. Students come to school and work very hard and it's a great thing to see.

Regards,

Chris
