Update

Hello,

This week in Science students learned about the types of rocks and the rock cycle. Students created a Fligrid video on what they learned this week and what they would like to know more about. Students watched musical song videos for 'sink-in' with these concepts. We discussed birth stones and geodes and viewed artistic arrangement photos from my trip to the Museum of Natural History in New York. Finally, we discussed the 'Old Man in the Mountain' and Grand Canyon. We later conducted a comprehension using the Plicker App to scan responses. The Google Slide on Planet Earth was due today. Next week the Impact on Earth slide will be due on Friday. Also, a Rocks and Minerals Project will be assigned and due on Friday, January 31st.

This week in Mr. Marrese's History class students began the writing process for a persuasive essay based on the prompt: Was America the land of opportunity for all? Students brainstormed reasons and wrote 2-3 examples for each reason to set the stage for writing a rough draft. Students also chose from a variety of transition words. We will continue writing the rough draft and typing the final draft next week. Students also took the 13 Colony Test. We are onto the French and Indian War.
