This week in Math students completed the unit on Geometry and Measurement - Perimeter, Area, and Volume. There were enrichment activities to promote critical thinking along with connections to fractions of 2 and 3 dimensional figures. We also viewed my Geoboard app to show this on the board before using their own geoboards and elastics to display figures and fractions thereof. The project checkpoint of 20 word problems was brought in today to break up the project. I look forward to seeing the game board and written directions the following week.
This week in Science students completed the Rocks and Minerals Unit. Students read articles from sciencedaily.com along with numerous review comprehension activities.
Following vacation we will have 2 weeks of instruction followed by 2 weeks of PARCC and MCAS Testing. More details will follow.
