Update

Greetings!

This week in Math students practiced dividing up to 4-digit whole numbers by up to 2 digit whole numbers using both the standard method and partial quotients method. Students also practiced their addition, subtraction, and division facts. Students also utilized a strategy for estimating the lead digits of the divisor into the lead digits of the dividend to work towards finding the quotient.
The Problem of the Week is due on Tuesday.

This week in Science students read about the various Energy Forms and answered comprehension questions. Students also categorized pictures under energy type headings. They wrote a paragraph comparing the amount of force from a baseball and bowling ball from a tall shelf. Also, students viewed Brainpop videos regarding Potential and Kinetic Energy. 3 upcoming labs include a drop of 4 types of balls, a rubber band shoot with varying resistance, and a creation of functioning roller coasters.
