This week sure was a busy one...
In Math students divided fractions by whole numbers and vice-versa. Word problems were assigned to apply the concepts to real-life situations with plenty of enrichment. A quiz re-take was offered from the Chapter 7B Quiz taken a week ago. The ideals of perseverance and rigor are being instilled in each student following our growth mindset model that they can do it, even if it takes a couple attempts.
In Science students learned about the 4 layers of Earth and about the 3 types of rocks in the rock cycle: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Some students brought in some samples to show the class. This will be the first of several opportunities to observe and analyze characteristics of each type. Students created a rock cycle reference booklet and also took notes from a reading to introduce this new unit.
