Update

Greetings!

We look forward to seeing you all during our Back To School Night Curriculum Showcase this upcoming Tuesday. Parents will visit the Assembly Hall from 6:00 - 6:45. Parents will then visit their homeroom teacher and then visit their teacher across the hall for an overview of this year's curriculum.

This week students practiced walking to the cafeteria to discuss and review procedures during lunch.
We will have a community meeting today to discuss continued expectations.

In Math students learned about place value, expressing in standard, word, and expanded form, and with powers of ten and exponents. Students created a Country Poster to practice expressing the population in forms. The Problem of the Week was collected and students have been chipping away at the monthly Tic Tac Challenge. Students will take their 1st quiz on Tuesday.

In Science students learned and applied the concepts of making observations, inferences, and hypotheses in 2 labs. Students made observations and inferences from creating fossil models using play-doh. Students tested a hypothesis as to whether a gummy bear would shrink after being submerged in a cup of water for 5 hours. Students discussed and wrote conclusions based on their data. The Science in a Bag was collected and is always a joy to view and read about.

Our 1st full week is complete and I am wiped out. Time to renew for another exciting week of learning.

Cheers,

Chris
