Update

Hello,

This week in Science students practiced the skill of writing a hypothesis and conducted a Gummy Bear Lab to see if their results matched their hypothesis. Students continued the practice of writing a hypothesis, collecting and organizing data, and creating a bar graph data display for the Colored Crayon Lab. Students later practiced the skill of writing conclusions during the Colored Dye Lab. The Science in a Bag assignment was collected this week. Today, students were offered the opportunity to present their item to their class which was very informative. Students later learned about the various States of Matter: Solid, Liquid, and Gas and their properties. Terms included evaporation, condensation, molecules, atoms, matter, volume, and mass. Students viewed online the NHL's Future Goals Program as a whole class activity where students learned the job of an ice technician who needs to calculate the appropriate stadium air temperature and ice temperature for an NHL game.

This week in Mr. Marrese's History students learned about the events of 9/11. We discussed both the history and meaning of the American Flag. We also introduced Latitude and Longitude and how to identify cities on a US Map.

Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday, September at 6:00. Parent Conferences will be held on Friday, October 19th. I will send out a google doc soon for slot sign-ups.

Regards,

Chris
