Update

Hello,

This week in Science students learned about Earth's 4 layers. Students also learned through our National Geographic Text and provided notes about Earth's Major Systems (Biosphere, Geosphere, Hydrosphere, and Atmosphere) and how they all interact. Students also learned about the 3 ocean ecosystems, and how the ocean shapes the land and climate. Students answered comprehension questions through the Google Classroom using Forms. Early finishers completed Google Slides Presentations.

I was extremely pleased with the work students did on the Light Circle Books. The final product showed a clear understanding of the various concepts including behaviors of light. Clearly detailed sentences filled each page. I must say I was very proud to read them all :)

This week in Mr. Marrese's History Class students learned about the forms of modern technology including the compass, flash cards on America's Explorers and terms tied to their expeditions, and an article entitled "America...At Whose Cost?" which provided a detailed account of how the Native Americans had to leave their settlements including the Trail of Tears journey. Students should be getting familiar with the flash cards. I want them to know something about each explorer through reading each paragraph. They do not have to know everything word for word. A Test will be given in about 2 weeks.
