Update

Hello,

This week in Science students continued learning about Earth's Major Systems with a focus on the effects of climate on Earth. We also discussed the effects of air, water, and human impact on landforms and the atmosphere. Students worked in the Google Classroom to answer comprehension questions on the reading. Early finishers were able to view 2 videos on Arctic Climate Change and The Flow of the Gulf Stream. Once completed students were also able to create a Google Slides Presentation on Earth's Systems along with a Learning Poster. Students received flash cards to prepare for next Wednesday's Quiz. Finally, students watched 2 Brainpop videos on the Ocean and answered comprehension questions.

This week in History students learned about how the early explorers discovered major rivers and landforms. Students participated in a school-wide Geography Bee Assessment. The top scoring 6-8 grade students will participate in a School Bee later this month to determine representatives for the State Tournament. Students also received flash cards for the upcoming Explorers Test on Wednesday, December 19th. I gave them a large ziplock baggie to store them in. Finally, students read the script for the play America's Best Explorers Play which will held on Thursday, December 20th Time TBA. Parents are welcome to attend. The play will last approximately 15 minutes. We will be seeking some simple costumes. I will work on a list soon.

Regards,

Chris
