Update

Greetings!

This week in Science students created a Mineral Learning Poster sharing their interpretation of a mineral and its 5 properties accompanied by pictures. Students also brought in rocks to describe on a Wanted: Missing Rock Poster. The following day students were called up to read a poster and properly identify the rock on the table. Students later read out common misconceptions of rocks and minerals. Finally, students learned about the alloys. The Impact on Earth Google Slide was collected today. The Planet Earth was collected last Friday. Any outstanding work needs to be submitted asap. Term 2 will be ending sometime early in March.

Students are aware that their Rocks and Minerals Project is due next Friday. Also, the Rocks and Minerals Test will be Wednesday, February 12th. The directions and study guide and are in google classroom and have been since the middle of January.

This week in Mr. Marrese's History class students spent the week writing their rough drafts before publishing their persuasive essays on the topic question: Was America the Land of Opportunity during early colonial times? Students filled out a planning packet to state their 3 major reasons along with examples before writing the rough draft. Students also utilized transition words within the essay.

Trying to make the best of the Super Bowl without the Patriots! 2 great, entertaining teams will be playing. This is a return to how the rest of the league feels watching other teams play.

Regards,

Chris
